Digital Literacy Day# 4
Unit EQ: Why should you use computers responsibly?
LEQ: How do you give credit for copywritten materials you use on the web?
Activating Strategies: Open your q-space and delete any pictures that you do not have permission to use.
Acceleration/Previewing/Vocabulary: Citation, Bibliography, Fair Use, Copyright
Teaching Strategies and Distributed Guided Practice/Summarizing Prompts:
  1. Have students log into their computers.
  2. Students will open a Microsoft Word Document from the shared folder.
  3. Explain how to multitask Alt-Tab
  4. Students will use Howstuffworks.com to select a computer hardware topic and find an internet web site about their selected topic.
  5. Students will create a Word document that includes a definition or description of the device from How Stuff Works, and a picture that they obtained from searching in google. They will open their guide from the shared folder and save the final product in their H:\ drive using their full name.
  6. Students will use Citation Maker to create a citation for the information that have found on the Howstuffworks.com website
  7. Students will use google to find and image that helps describe that computer part.
  8. Students will use Citation Maker to create a citation for the picture that they have found on using Google.
  9. Place the finished file in your teacher's drop box.
